More About EcoFoil Under Concrete Slab Insulation
EcoFoil Under Slab Insulation is superior to traditional, outdated forms of concrete floor insulation such as polystyrene or foam sheets. Rigid insulation concrete products like foam sheeting are easily broken and must be used with an extra vapor barrier, plus standard foam or polystyrene concrete insulation does not stop radiant heat loss or gain. EcoFoil reflective bubble concrete floor insulation products accomplish all of this, as well as providing a barrier for radon. 57% of radiant heat is reflected back to the concrete surface, whether that be a driveway, a basement floor, or a concrete wall - rather than letting the heat seep down into the soil.
EcoFoil Under Slab Insulation consists of a layer of metalized foil centered between a layer of bubble insulation laminated to each side with a permanent bond. This encapsulates the reflective foil sheet preventing it from being exposed to the ground or the concrete, ensuring the life and performance of the product. It is specifically manufactured to withstand the pressure and corrosive nature of concrete and to provide the most reflectivity of any under slab insulation on the market.
Please Note: You cannot use a regular foil bubble insulation product in a concrete insulation application. When foil comes into direct contact with the cement, especially while it is curing, the foil layer will corrode and destroy the reflective properties of the insulation. EcoFoil developed this patented product for just this reason - to serve as a superior concrete floor insulation and concrete vapor barrier, but also to serve as a radiant barrier insulation which reflects radiant heat (see "How A Radiant Barrier Works"). This bubble insulation product also gives more reflectivity when used in a heated slab than any other concrete insulation product on the market. This will improve slab response times dramatically when used with radiant heat.
