What Is Radiant Barrier Insulation?

EcoFoil® perforated radiant barrier uses reflective technology to increase the energy efficiency and comfort level of your home. Also called reflective foil, EcoFoil can be installed in many areas of your home. Radiant barrier is made of a thin layer of woven polyethylene that is sandwiched between two sheets of highly reflective metalized/aluminum. It blocks up to 97% of radiant heat transfer which helps to keep your home cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Our perforated radiant barrier has tiny pin holes punched throughout the roll so that you can install it over top of mass insulation without the concern of trapping moisture.

Where are Radiant Barriers Used?

In the Attic - In your attic, perforated radiant barrier works by reflecting heat away from the attic during long, hot summer days. This keeps your attic cooler and your home more comfortable.

IMPORTANT

It is NOT RECOMMENDED to use any type of tape on the radiant barrier in your attic. The tape will block the perforations and allow condensation to form in these places!

Installation Instructions

Radiant Barrier is very light weight yet highly durable so installation is a breeze. All you will need is a sharp utility knife or scissors, tape measure and a staple gun if installing under the rafters or as house wrap. Browse the installation files below that match your application.
