What is Between Joist Foil Insulation?
EcoFoil® pre-cut rolls of Refelctive Foil/Bubble Insulation consists of two layers of poly bubble insulation which is then covered on both sides by a reflective metalized/aluminum composition. It provides superior protection against radiant heat transfer and also provides an effective vapor barrier if properly sealed with foil tape.
Where is Between Joist Foil Insulation Used?
Pre-Cut Reflective Bubble Insulation is designed to fit in between the floor joists of a home or building. It is pre-cut at 16 ½" wide, very light and features a tab on both sides for easy stapling during installation. This insulation does create an R-Value but it is determined by the neutral air space in the assembly of the insulation. The more neutral air space that you create between the insulation and the living space, the higher the R-Value will be.
This pre-cut bubble insulation also fits perfectly in between the studs of a stud wall. It works great for basement wall insulation because it creates a vapor barrier. This product is also commonly used as a crawl space vapor barrier.
